Pickit and Packit News

CHRISTMAS 2011.

Our contract packing department has achieved new records this year. Last week we finished constructing over 1.5 million gifts for Boots. The directors would like to express their thanks to all the management and staff who have performed so well. The QC department have reported almost 100% quality standard achieved this season.

In addition to the Boots contract we have been working with a new client which supplies technical products to Tesco. The volumes are increasing and we look forward to working closely with them during 2012. Our contract department is really flourishing.

Pickit and Packit Fulfilment continues to provide an efficient and reliable service to clients selling both to retail and on-line. Our largest client advertised in a national newspaper during early December and actually quadrupled their December sales. We were still able to fulfil their orders, which all went out on time. Again, a great achievement by our order picking staff.

We have taken on a new fulfilment client this week. They have just sent us a 40ft container of speciality teas from central China. These are to be sold on-line, and we look forward to this new business which has been carefully planned during the last twelve months.

Earlier in the year we redesigned our storage areas by reducing aisle widths. This has given us extra capacity to offer reliable and secure storage for our clients. It meant us investing in a new 'state of the art' forklift capable of operating in narrower aisles. Our operators needed training to a higher standard which is in line with our policy of constant improvement and training in all departments.

We wish all our clients a happy Christmas and a successful New Year.

Christmas Gift Packing

It's all systems GO in our Contract Packing Department. With 1.5 million gifts to collate, pack and despatch we are benefiting from previous seasons experience. Each production line has at least two operators who have been involved before, and an experienced team leader. We are already ahead of schedule and have been able to take on an overflow of work from another contract packer.

In addition to this uplift in the contract packing area, we are also very busy with our storage and fulfilment service. One of our well established clients has just been awarded a major contract with ASDA. This is good news for both our partner company and ourselves. Our experience in Picking and Packing to a very demanding schedule means our client will have confidence that ASDA will be serviced to their required standard.

A new range of Silicone Kitchen Tools has just arrived from China for Paton Calvert Housewares Ltd. For whom we undertake their complete fulfilment operation. Again this has meant our Picking and Packing operators have been very busy getting initial orders out to the retail trade.

We feel privileged to be so busy in spite of the gloomy reports in the daily press. Our management team are very focused on client satisfaction which is reflected in the amount of business we have accumulated over the past few years. We are confident this will continue as we attract new clients to our fulfilment and pick/pack services.
